Sept 2011 Blog

Hello All!!

I have not had a chance to write in a while but here's what's been going on. We had a great
Christmas filled with lots of family and tons of fun for the boys. My Grandma ended up in the
hospital and that was very hard for us being so far away and my extended family made the situation
much worse than it needed to be...but that's a whole other issue! Grammy is doing much better
now!!
I had a MRI done in December which showed where all my pain was coming from, a herniated disc
(S1) and Degenerative disc (L4-5). I tried one epidural cortisone shot which helped for a week then
on Jan 8th I was unable to move/walk and thank God my husband was home to take care of the kids,
very scary. I have been doing Acupuncture and drinking herbal tea and I have been feeling much
better (knock on wood-fingers crossed) and I can only hope and pray that even if I have pain I never
want to go through what I did the week of Jan 8th again.
My husband is doing well in his new position and is busy as usual, he is such a hard worker and a
true blessing to our family. The boys are all growing so fast and they put a smile on my face
everyday!
As always I'm trying to eat right, workout when I can and help other's live a healthy lifestyle. ;)

If you have any pregnancy related questions either general or fitness please email me and I'll
be happy to help :)

As always, I hope all of you are making healthy choices and living life to the fullest. Contact
me at michelle@getfitwithgreene with any questions or comments. Thanks for stopping by and
have a great day!!!!!  ~Michelle~

Below is an excerpt from and interview with Beaumont Buzz (2008)

BB: What’s your history as a personal trainer?
MG: I have been involved with training people for over 10 years...currently I'm working at Beaumont Health &
Fitness as a trainer.

BB: How did you get started?
MG: I've been active in sports my whole life. What started my personal training path was being involved in
competing.

BB: Why does someone need a PT?
MG: A personal trainer is so important for many reasons, we are there to motivate and support you as well as
making sure you are executing the exercises properly, all while having fun.

BB: If it’s something they’ve been thinking about doing for awhile, what would you say to get them to take the
plunge?
MG: It is never to late to start a healthy lifestyle and I'm the one that can help put in all in perspective for them.

BB: Do you stay with the client the entire session or just give instructions and let them be?
MG: I am very much involved throughout the session, I'll even workout with you to keep you motivated if needed.

BB:  How do they sign up with you?
MG: Come into the gym and ask to train with me.  I will also make house calls which can be discussed.

BB: What’s your #1 workout tip?
MG: I have many ! But if I had to pick just one I would say to concentrate on your form while working out is so
important.

BB:  What’s the worst thing someone can do when starting a work out regime?
MG: Neglecting to watch what they eat, people think because they are working out they can eat whatever they
want. SO wrong !
